Novice DBA planning upgrade to Oracle Enterprise Edition Database 11gR2 and Middleware 11g plus inst

 I'm trying to plan the upgrade/migration/installation of several Oracle components.

We have Oracle Enterprise Edition Database 10.2.0.4.0 (non-RAC) installed on a Sun Sparc running Solaris 10, patch 8 managing ~ 14 database instances and are preparing for the upgrade to 11gR2.  We're also interested in installing EM Grid Control.  Are there any recommendations regarding installing Grid Control before or after the upgrade to 11gR2?  We have Grid Control 10.2.0.1 (base release) and the 10.2.0.5 patchset in house which I would use if we install it before the database upgrade.  (I see 11g database is not certified with Grid Control 10.2.0.1.0 for storing the Oracle Management Repository.)
