HP SAN and ASM

Another dba and I were having a discussion related to ASM and using HP SAN features like snap cloning to make development databases.  We're familiar with using journaled filesystems with cloning which usually results in a usable copy of the database, but I maintained that the same was doable with cloning of ASM.  Is anyone else out there familiar with using san snap clone of lv's in ASM diskgroups as a way of making a test database?
