How to transfer asset lines to the same GL?

 We have assets that have multiple components with different GLs assigned.  The asset has been in service since 2008, but the business would like to transfer/merge the asset lines into one GL, back dating to 01/01/2010.  When users attempting to do that, they received an error message that only one prior month adjustment can be made.  So in our case where the Asset has 4 lines, it would take 4 months to complete the transfer.

For example Asset 12345

Line 1 - Unit (.25) GL (01.xxxx.xxxx.xxxx.xx.xxx)

Line 2 - Unit (.25) GL (90.yyyy.yyyy.yyyy.yy.yyy)

Line 3 - Unit (.25) GL (90.zzzz.zzzz.zzzz.zz.zzz)
