OEM-Database Control backups=Suspended on Agent Unreachable?

 I perform backups using OEM and a RMAN catalog.  They have worked for well over a year.

Now I'm getting "Suspended on Agent Unreachable".  There is only one 10g DB on the system and it's RMAN catalog is on another system but the catalog configuration is correct and I verified that it is reachable via tnsping.

I have stopped and restarted the dbconsole and the "emctl status agent" reports that it is started.  None of the Googled solutions have helped.
