Multi-level discount adjustment

Currently running A7.3 - I want to apply discount based on $ amount but there are 2 levels: 15% off if $500-$999.99 and 20% off $1000.00 and up. Can I do this with 1 adjustment or do I need 2 adjustments in the schedule? If there are 2, how do I make sure it doesn't calculate both discounts on the same order?
