Reports server won't come up

Hello,

I've recently installed oracle business intellingence on our linux platform.  I can get into the ias admin console.  However, the appliction server shows  a status of down.  Under the system components, the only thing down is the reports server.  I select the component, and try to start it.  I get the message that it's started, however, it still shows that it's down.  Is there anyway to trouble shoot this or find out why it won't come up?
