Attention: To align with new corporate security policies, and to match policies adopted by other communities within Oracle, the My Oracle Support Community access requirements will change beginning September 18, 2025. Promise date vs Need By Date

my feeling is that need dy date is the date when customer wanted the ordered goods. In what way the promise date be different from this date?

How could order be took, with different promise date?
