JDEINSTAL OUTQ in library JDFINS must be empty before performing LODRUN or setup.exe
The JDEINSTAL OUTQ in library JDFINS must be empty before performing a LODRUN or before running setup.exe, otherwise the QINSTAPP process will not be able to delete library JDFINS, and the process will fail. When LODRUN or setup.exe is submitted, program QINSTAPP is executed. It first deletes JDEINSTAL, then JDFINS, then it restores JDEINSTAL and JDFINS. If it cannot delete JDFINS it stops there and never restores JDEINSTAL. You will thus not be able to sign on as JDEINSTAL, because JDEINSTAL does not exist.
Before performing a LODRUN or running setup.exe, do a WRKOUTQ JDEINSTAL in library JDFINS and make sure it is empty. If it is not then delete the spool files out there, or move them to another outq if you wish to save them.
