System Slow on new Power 6 520

A81cu5 client implemented a new Power 6 520 system with 2 processors 8300/8300 CPW and 32Gb RAM and an IBM DS5020 storage controller attached to it - it uses a VIO for sharing the resources. The VIO uses 6Gb of the memory so the system actually only has 26Gb. They are replicating the data between their systems via Mimix and had to switch back due to the system being too slow.  Client wants to know if there are other clients running the same hardware and might have had a similar issue.
