What are the things to watch out for in streams deployment?

Hi,
I've been asked to set up streams replication from the main database down to another baby brother database on a WAN (Both databases will be Oracle 10.2.0.5.0 on Oracle Enterprise Linux).
To accomplish this I need to replicate 110 tables from a schema that contains 1200 tables.
I'm about to start working through building up the streams setup scripts for these tables but thought I'd post this to see if you have any recommendations on how I should be configuring this / comments on what to watch out for.
I'm trying to get the client to use Golden Gate instead as I hear this is generally a better replication solution and the one that Oracle will be building upon in the future but think it will be too expensive for them.
