Assembly item no longer allowed as a component

 We recently applied a patch which no longer allows us to do WIP Neg Comp Issue transaction for the assembly item. This has been the core logic for our manufacturing solution for five years. Does anyone else do something similar? Does anyone else know of a work around? Any suggestion or advice is appreciated.

Patch 5647736 was applied as a pre-req to 8515573.
