Where do tnsnames.ora and listener.ora files go after upgrading to 11gR2

I noticed in more than one server that the configuration files tnsnames.ora and listener.ora files disppear from $ORACLE_HOME/network/admin after upgrading some databases to 11gR2. During the upgrade (from 10gR2) I manually copied these files from the old Oracle Home but when I checked a few weeks later they disappeared. The listener is still up and running and can be shutdown and restarted without issues. This scenario is repeated in more than one server (some Linux and some Solaris).

Does any one know what could have happened to these files? I initially thought that they might have been moved somewhere else within the Oracle Home installation just like the alert log but I am unable to locate them.

Howdy, Stranger!
