Tracking Grant activity through Financial modules in JDE EnterpriseOne without using the Grants Modu

Is it possible to track grant activity and process reporting thorugh the JDE E1 financial modules without using a separate module?  And if so, how?  Is it possible to capture all the costs including cost share for one specific grant from conception to closing of grant?  if so, what is the account code structure that is being used?
