Exadata migration
One of our data architects has consulted a few Oracle resources and claims the following as a valid migration path from our existing platform to Exadata DB Machine and I just wanted to know if its true/valid:
1. Turn of Exadata via a parameter (like a database parameter, except an exadata software parameter?) such that it behaves like a JBOD and not 11.2 Exadata software giving grid disks (I guess).
2. Install and configure Oracle 11.1.0.7 non-RAC on the Exadata DB nodes using storage for ASM provided from JBOD (crippled Exadata cells)
3. Migrate our databases over into this new database on the crippled Exadata DB Machine
