Quantifying I/O Requirements on a Restore

Hi there,

I would be grateful if someone could highlight documentation that relates to how RMan reads
a backuppiece for the restore of a datafile.

Does RMan read the backuppiece end-to-end?

Is the datafile stored (and therefore restored) contiguously on/from the piece?

Does RMan terminate the restore command gracefully when the file is restored in it's entirety - or only once the end-of-file on the backuppiece is reached?
