DEDM on F0618 _ Method of Calculation

Does anyone know where the method of calculation (DEDM) comes from in the F0618 table. Particularly for a pay type, we have some records that calculated wrong and the only difference in the ones that are wrong is their DEDM field it is populated with a G. All others that are right are blank. The pay type doesnt have anything in the setup to reference this, I couldnt find anything on the employees, the group setup has nothing. Any ideas would be helpful.
