Migrate Project progress details from excel to Oracle Project Management R12

Hi,

We want to migrate the current project's  progress details of maintained in excels by our client to Oracle Project Management. After the migration the progress  we will be tracked from existing progress point example - If the existing project progress is 25 % after migration we want to track the progress from Oracle projects management.

My question is:

1. what information needs to be captured to migrate the data from existing excell based system to Oracle Projects?

2. Is there any API to migrate these details?
