Attention: To align with new corporate security policies, and to match policies adopted by other communities within Oracle, the My Oracle Support Community access requirements will change beginning September 18, 2025. Why would anyone create manually item instances in IB?

Hi All,

I am a newbie to Oracle Install base, so please pardon me if they are some basic questions here.

First thing I created an item,did a misc receipt, create a sales order issue etc.And when i come to install base, i can see those transactions.

My question is why would any one create a item instance in IB , I mean under what business conditions, an item

instance is created as opposed to item instances getting created automatically in IB, due to some inventory,om, PO actions.

I hope i am clear in my question, any responses are appreciated.
