ASM, RAID levels and EqualLogic SAN?
We're looking at replacing an old Oracle9iR2 RAC cluster on Windows 2000 with newer servers, OS and storage - and maybe not RAC but possibly RAC One Node or VM.
My question is about storage. We are currently having issues with fast hard disks in a 2-node cluster, where the controllers start fighting each other during high I/O and RAID-1 disk rebuilding. The Dell EqualLogic iSCSI SAN array looks like a nice solution - put all of the caching, RAID levels, etc. into the storage unit and let it present a single cached version of storage to all attached nodes.
