Deleted AR Transactions Report

We would like to identify any AR Transaction numbers where a transaction was created and then deleted, ideally via a custom report. The problem is that as I understand it when an AR Transaction is created the number is allocated instantly however the transaction can be deleted and there will be no record that it ever existsed. We need to identify these instances versus instances where a number was never allocated in the first place due to the batch numbering process.
