ASM path names

Hi all,

I have a RAC system with 2 nodes, and storage is done through ASM.  History, this particular RAC has 'failed over' several times seemingly for no reason.  They are both up again right now.  The problem appears to be the disks get locked by the on line node. 

In running queries against the ASM views (v$asm_disk) I am seeing that the 'Path' is different on the different nodes - could that be a cause for my problem?  Anybody know or seen this issue?

Example:

On node1

DGROUP1 paths listed are ORCL:VOL##

On Node2

DGROUP1 paths listed are /dev/oracleasm/disks/VOL##
