Amortization of Leased Assets
Hi Experts,
We are in need to depreciate asset during its lease period. We would like to bring the NBV of the leased asset to 'NIL' at the ceasation of the lease period.
Is there any way we can define an end date for depreciation in FA and also ensure that the depreciation is calculated from the DPS and the end date.
To describe the scenario,
1. Asset no 1 acquired Jan 2010 for R100,000
2. Asset no 2 acquired March 2010 for R 200,000.
3. Asset no 3 acquired June 2010 for R 50,000.
Lets say the lease period is 5 years Commencing 1 Jan 2010 and ending 31 Dec 2015.
What we like to see is all the assets stop fully depreciating by 31 December 2015 and not going beyond that period.
