Memory usage

I am upgrading our databases from 9iR2 (9.2.0.8) to 10gR2 (10.2.0.5) using IBM AIX platform.
I am currently looking at memory usage to plan performance impact of upgrade.

 It appears the per client connection memory goes up from 17 mb to 130 mb. Does client memory really increase 8 times due to this upgrade?

I do appreciate if any of the experienced people with such issue could give a Tips for calculating memory usage?
