R12.1 Tax Distribution Lines in AR

There are 3 TAX distribution lines for the single revenue line in R12 – in R11i we had only 1 distribution TAX line.

In R11i for U.S. 3 taxes were combined as 1 tax accounting distribution line for AR transaction, but in R12 for U.S it shows as 3 separate tax AR distribution lines for State, County and City. 

The separate breakout and presentation of multi-jurisdiction tax accounting liability distributions lines (ex. state, county, city in the US) is it typical in R12. Can this be combined and are there any significant benefits. Any response would be appericated.
