Upgrade 11i to R12 with migration to new server (W2003 - W2008)

  Hi

We are currently planning our upgrade - current setup is Windows 2003 11.5.10.2/11gR1, to be upgraded/migrated to Windows 2008 12.1.3/11gR1.

I would like to upgrade the current server to R12 then clone to W2008.  However we don't have sufficient disk space available to do this (installing all the new software). I cannot clone the current environment first to W2008 then upgrade because the cloned env is not certified (W2008 11.5.10.2/11gR1).

So I think the option we have here is:

1. Patch 11i env and 11gR1 database ready for R12 upgrade.  Apply DB upgrade driver.

2. Install new R12 software on new server W2008.
