Significant Virtual Memory Paging detected on host operating system.
We are running Oracle 10.2.0.4 on Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Server 5.2 Service Pack 2 (32-bit) The server has 3 disks C: 33.9 GB with 8.34 GB Free space, (which has the db files ) 67.8 GB with 35.1 GB free space, and E: (mainly logs) 8.46 GB with 8.20 free space. Database size is only 8.5 GB.
I am getting intermittent complaints about performance and it is hard to determine what may be the cause. The Db hosts a web application and a windows application, both on separate servers. Running an ADDM report in OEM reported the following:
Host operating system was experiencing significant paging but no particular cause could be detected. Investigate processes that do not belong to the host that are consuming significant amount of virtual memory. Also consider adding more physical memory to the host.
