API or Copy function for creating Books and Asset Categories

Does anyone know of an API or Copy function in 11.5.10.2 to facilitate creation of FA Books and Asset Categories.  We have numerous FA books each with approximately 80 asset categories and was hoping there might be a faster way to do this.
