Hi all.

I realized that I must use rman beside templates (backup and restore) and exp\imp utilities. I read “Backup and Recovery Advanced User's Guide” and what to create rman script which makes for me hot backup and I have to correctly and fully restore my database.

I don’t know which configurations I should on and which ones off.

My db server run on HP-UX and db files are on disks arrays (EVA 4400). I also have tape writer. I think I have to do full backup ones a week (on sunday) and workday do incremental.

Can I do one backup piece where are stored archive logs, control files and datafiles? Should I create rman catalog or shouldn’t? should I have backup piece only on tapes and must have copy on hard disk (I mean does tapes have problem or I shouldn’t worry?).

Howdy, Stranger!
