Gather Schema Stats - Sample_Size

 We are trying to improve our HVOP, Allocation, and Custom Change performance.  Our Gather Schema Stats is currently running 6 hours with a sample size setting of 30%.  We are curious if running Gather Schema Stats at 50%, 75%, 100% will provide any performance benefits.  We realize that we will have a long run time.  Has anyone done this?  We are curious what to expect from a run time and performance benefit.
