How can I know Listener is able to use the listener.log file

Hi,

We are running the database Oracle 10g on Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES release 4 (Nahant Update 7) server. As part of our observation we found the listener.log file size is huge, we just move the existing log file to some other name and created a new listener.log file using the touch command. Now our doubt is how we know whether the listener is using the log or not? Because we observed the log file for a half an hour and still there is no data in the log file.
