meaning of swap space available swap -s / vmstat
Hello all,
can somebody please explain me the meaning of the output of swap -s / or swap column in vmstat?
I have the following situation on a Solaris 10 system with 64 GB RAM and 2 GB swap.
In the output of swap -s and vmstat below, why is the swap down to 1097096k which is even less than the disk swap space, which is in fact not in use at all?
The man page of swap says under the -s option:
These numbers include swap space from all configured
swap areas as listed by the -l option, as well swap
space in the form of physical memory.
