database migration from IA 64 to Xeon64

 Dear all, I have an oracle 10gR2 on Linux Redhat 3 IA64. The database files are on an external array. I would like to start the database on another server Intel Xeon 64.
can I just unmount the oracle volumes from the first server and mount them on the second server?

the docs say I do not need any conversion across both platforms
