Unable merge the lines in Prepare Mass addition

Hello

We are unable to merge the asset lines in the massaddition window  even though the Line status is New .
In the Mass addition summary window , after we click on the Merge and we query for invoice or line . Then the query doesnot retun any lines for merge . The merge screen is Blank .

The merge is working for the freight and tax . The merge is not working if the two lines are item .

for all the item line type the merge code is MP .( FA_MASS_ADDITIONS.SPLIT_MERGED_CODE = MP )

We are in 12.0.6.

Any help on this highly appreciated .
