Default Century & Effective Dates for End of 2010

  As we get near the end of 2010, EnterpriseOne community members should be aware of the following situation - especially if you run Xe or ERP8.0.

SITUATION

EnterpriseOne stores calendar dates in Julian date format. We use default 'effective through' and 'expiration dates' in some data tables using data dictionary item CENTCHG.

  • In XE/ERP8 this is set to 10 to have default dates ‘12/31/2010’
  • In 8.9  this is set to 15 to have default dates ‘12/31/2015’
  • In 8.10 – 9.0 this is set to 40 to have default dates ‘12/31/2040’

RECOMMENDATION

If you run Xe-8.9, or have upgraded from Xe-8.9, Oracle recommends you increase this value so that the software will supply new effective through dates further into the future. Also review dates in existing business data tables.
