Trigger a workflow from a report

Dear All,
We've got a tricky requirement which I'm not sure it is possible to achieve: Our customer would like a record to be updated depending on the output of a report.

.. so my question:
Is it possible to trigger an action (eg: workflow process) as a result of a conditional expression in a report?

Any guidance or workaround among this issue is very much appreciated!
