How can I save UBE runtime report date and report time fields for manipulation?

How can I save UBE runtime report date and report time fields for manipulation? I need to reformat and use them in my UBE.
Does a time variable exist to which I could copy the runtime and then manipulate it?

I've been unable to capture system time, or current time. When trying to assign a text variable to runtime field, I get this error:
Function: =
Parameter# 1
Should be Data Type: String

[I'm using EnterpriseOne 8.10, Tools Release 8.97.1.2.]
