updating catalog with old backups

Hi, I'm using oracle 10.2.0.4 .
My recovery window config in rman is for 7 days.

I need to restore database to a month before the seven days.

Once I bring back the backup files from tape, how do I get the catalog to recognize the files so I can performance a point in time recovery.
