Our buyers are not seeing the expected type of demand for a specific part

We have a part that has been in use for a long time. There are other similar parts. Recently the demand that should have been Planned Order (type) is displaying as Sales Order MDS and does not show up at all on his Horizontal Plan view.

We can see via Inventory that the Sales Order demand is showing when we query on On-Hand qty/Supply Demand. But the buyer is seeing ZERO through his view via Material Planner Workbench.  Any ideas?
