R30801 Costing Exceptions Report - invalid messages showing

 We have parts which were originally manufactured and had appropriate BOM and Routings.  The decision was made to purchase these rather than manufacture them.  The Stocking Type were changed to "P" and the effective dates on the BOM and Routings were expired.

These items continue to show up on the R30801 (Costing Exception Report) with a message of "Purchase Part with BOM".  I know I can change the processing options on the report to exclude these messages, but then potential valid messages will be missed.

What do I need to do so these invalid messages no longer show on the report?  Do I need to "delete" the BOM's rather than expire the effective dates?
