Can ASM be configured on external USD Drive on HP-UX environment?

 Hi,

Our Production enviroment is on Oracle 10g R2 RAC on HP-UX v2 and the database is on ASM and is 1 TB in size

We want to restore the RMAN Production Database backup on the Test Server which is on Oracle 10g R2 (Single Instance). We don't have sufficient free disk space to create 1 TB Disk for ASM.

If we could configure external USB disk to HP-UX then would it be possible to use that drive to create ASM disks and Disk Groups? I want to know if ASM can be configured on external USD Drive on HP-UX environment.
