Webdav delivery between publisher and Tomcat 5.5 setup

  I want to deliver BI Publisher reports to the same server that it is running on.  It is running Tomcat 5.5.27 What do I have to do in Tomcat to open WebDAV connection.  How do I know if it is working on Tomcat?  What do I check to make sure the components are setup correctly.
Is there any special authentication settings in Tomcat?

I need specifics with examples.  I have been at this for days now with little to show for it but a java string exception.
