agilefiles directory purge

 I have a directory called agilefiles. This directory has grown from 799 megs to 1.7 gigs in 6 months. The directories below are 000 001 purge purgefiles

Can I purge these files out as we are beginning to have space problems. There are seveal directories that are sequential in number and several directories under these with doc and jpg files that are from June of 09.

Please let me know.
