Activities that needs to break into days if it is longer than 8 hours

 I have a requirement to set up activities that has different duration times.

I have created the different templates (for expample 24hours, 36hours, 48hours and 60hours)

The activity is comming up correctly on the dispatch board but it does not break the activity into the normal working days but it just continues through the night until the duration of the activity is completed.  This is incorrect and I need it to start for expample at 2pm today and stop at 5pm in the afternoon and then carry on the following day at 8am until 5pm the afternoon and so on until the 24/36/48/60 hours is completed.
