Package build and deployment question

Hi,

I just got sys admin training and was told that for package build and deployment:

1. Use DV812 full client if you want to build and deploy from DV to PY

2. Use PY812 full clinet if you want to build and deploy from PY to PD

I have just DV812 installed on our machine. Can I use this for building and deployment of packages to DV and PY.

The reason I am asking because one of our admin told me that he is using DV client for deployment to both DV and PY. I was told that we have to use separate clients. Can we use the DV812 client for building and deploying of packages to DV812 and PY812 without installing PY812 (just DV812 is installed).
