compatible paramater

 Hi i wonder if any one knows what happen if we change compatible parameter from 10.2.0.1 to 10.2.0.3.
the patch 10.2.0.3 has been applied but the compatible parameter has not been changed and it is still 10.2.0.1
does it have any rollback if i change compatible ?
what are the risks?
