What is the recommend way to zero out the disks on a system we are putting out of service and discarding?
Searching, I have found some information saying to use defect, primary, analyze, purge, defect, both, analyze purge sub-commands of the format command.
http://www.sun.com/software/solaris/trustedsolaris/ts_tech_faq/faqs/purge.xml#format
I also found info saying to use analyze & verify of the format command.

And, it looks like format will also write 0 data to the disk.
So, which way is recommended as most thorough and reliable and actually correct.
