Importing inventory updates from POS to Oracle

Hi all,

We're building a POS system to handle sales, receipts and payments from customers.  We also send inventory information across from Oracle inventory to the POS.  We need to be able to send back inventory updates that happens along with sales (i.e. selling 2 pieces of items x means the stock of item x needs to be reduced by 2).  What is the best way of importing this information to Inventory? Is there any API to do this? We're not using OM, is there any way to link invoice to inventory movement?
