R12 INV intercompany vs. AGIS

 Hi,
AGIS is not needed to do the old-style Inventory intecompany transactions in R12, right?

But can AGIS be used in a beneficial way for inventory intercompany? i.e. can it be used to set up the customers and suppliers for the inventory organizations relationships in an automated and standardized way?
Or are there limitations in this approach?
