Balancing Segments Across Ledgers

We have a potential scenario where we want to setup two locations in Mexico.  We currently have a USD and a MXN Ledger setup (in 12.1.1 environment).  One of the OU's transacts in MXN and the other OU transacts in USD.  We are going to setup the location that transacts in MXN to be linked to the MXN Ledger and balancing segment 027.  For the location that transacts in USD we wanted to know if we would be able to link to the USD Ledger but still use the balancing segment 027.
