Checkbox fields are not being mandatory based on Sales Stage.

 Hello,

CRMOD product features states that based on Sales Stage, feilds can be set to mandatory. I have set 2 checkbox fields to mandatory for a particular sales stages. However, when I select the sales stage,  I can see the checkbox fields red in color but I am able to save it without checking the checkbox field.

Is this the product behavior or am I missing out something?
